Information, not legal advice.

Northern Ireland has its own SEN framework and Statements of Special Educational Needs. England EHCP guidance does not apply.

Before the review

Read the whole Statement, gather recent reports and write down provision that is working, missing or no longer suitable.

At the meeting

Ask what progress evidence shows, what has changed and whether the Statement should be amended. Make sure significant concerns are recorded.

After the review

Keep the review paperwork and the EA decision. Certain decisions following review, including a decision not to amend in relevant circumstances, can carry appeal rights.
