Northern Ireland has its own SEN framework and Statements of Special Educational Needs. England EHCP guidance does not apply.

Check the description of needs

Compare the Statement with assessment advice and make a list of material needs that appear missing or understated.

Check provision

Ask what support will actually happen, by whom and with what frequency or arrangements where those details are necessary to make the provision understandable.

Check placement

Consider whether the named school or type of school can deliver the provision described in the Statement.
